COACH HANKINS- SOCCER CAMP COORDINATOR & DIRECTOR OF PARENT ENGAGEMENT

Eric Hankins has worked with youth athletics for over 20 years.  He has experience working with the administration, parents, and players.  He truly believes that the secret to having more successful students is to drive partnership and engagement from the parents to be a part of the journey.  Eric has personally seen the impact that this has had, and is focused on developing both community and parent relationships to help drive the Girls with GRIT program.

COACH G- YOUTH BASKETBALL CAMP COORDINATOR

Greg Cannon has been working with youth for over 10 years.  He has served as physical education teacher, a boys basketball coach, a girls basketball coach, an aau coach, and most important a mentor to wide segment of students.  He has worked at the Boys and Girls Club, Hartwell Recreation Center and has experience working with elementary school students.  Greg played college sports and learned through hard work and perseverance anything is possible.  

COACH E - BASKETBALL CAMP DIRECTOR

Erica Hallman, Owner/Lead Trainer of “In The Gym LLC” has been closely working with athletes the last three years to enhance their basketball fundamentals.  Erica was Miss Kentucky Basketball in 2002, played for the University of Kansas 2002-2006 and is in the top 10 in several statistical categories while majoring in Accounting.  Her passion is to develop the mental and physical capabilities in every athlete she encounters to reach their full potential. It is her belief that if student athletes receive a mixture of personalized, position specific instruction that focuses on skill development in a repetitive manner these efforts will transfer over to success in games.

Our staff is focused on bringing positive energy, a connection to life outside of sports, and background in training/coaching/instructing or mentoring kids.  Our goal is to make sure every girl has an healthy environment to give her BEST!  We have volunteers in all areas such as academic support, motivational speakers, and prior student athletes.

Building Confidence in girls through SPORTS

COACH VONNE - TRACK CAMP COORDINATOR 

Stevonne was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and was a graduate of Withrow High School in 2001. While an athlete in high school Stevonne excelled at the longer sprints winning regional title in the 400 meter dash and the school record. Coach Spivery started her coaching career with the Cincinnati All stars track club in 2012, in 2013 she became head coach for the Jr high team at St Frances DeSales. In 2015 became assistant coach/ sprint coach at Mt Norte Dame high school. Returning to her Alma mater to become head coach of the boys and girls Jr high track team in 2016 coach Spivery has quickly established a foundation for students wanting to continue on to high school track and field. Coach Spivery believes in teaching the basics and emphasizing natural talent and hard work. 

DR. TAYLOR - RESEARCH COORDINATOR

Monica Taylor leads the research and parent curriculum in learning about key challenges that affect girls in grades and helps create curriculums for parents, coaches and players on how to overcome these challenges and develop into beautiful strong confident young women.  Dr. Taylor played collegiate basketball and has been a professor for over 5 years at multiple colleges and is currently on the School Board in Upper Darby, PA.  Her passion is helping all people be their BEST!
 

COACH THORPE - CREATIVITY COORDINATOR

Cassaundra Thorpe has worked in athletics for over 6 years. She was also a student-athlete herself playing basketball all four years of her collegiate career. She has spent her professional career working with collegiate athletes on their academics, personal development, career development and community engagement. She believes in the development of people. Cassaundra’s role with us will be establishing program objectives for each Girls with GRIT site, managing Girls with GRIT site budgets, coordinating program development across Girls with GRIT sites, retrieving data from Girls with GRIT sites regarding programming, attendance and needed resources. Cassaundra will also co- manage community partnerships with Director of Parent Engagement of Director of Skill Development.
 

MRS. EMILY - ACADEMIC COORDINATOR

Emily leads our academic curriculum helping translate academics such as math and reading into a fun environment where the girls can be open to ask questions and learn in a more hands on way.  Currently the curriculum focus on math, reading and general life skills and team building activities.  Emily has had experience teaching at all levels and is passionate about learning!
